Freedom

If you continue in my word, then are you my disciples, and you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free… If the Son therefore shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. John 8:31,32, 36

One of the most freeing sets of truth I’m experiencing is the truth about myself from Christ’s perspective. There is no better way to hear it. There’s no other One I’d rather hear it from. The One who not only knows me (because He died for each of my actual and potential sins), but loves me intently (He died to keep me) and believes in me (He died expecting to see me in eternity) tells me what I am and can be.

His full knowledge about me, complete love for me, and total faith in me is more liberating than anything else I know. I am not only free of others’ opinions, I am free of my own. If God is for me and will be with me, what can’t I do or become? What can stop me? I’m inspired, determined to become everything He told me that I am. I am free to grow into my fullest self, a reflection of Him.

This Independence Day, let’s thank God for our independence in Christ. Take some time today to listen to Christ’s Spirit free you.

Thank you God, for the liberty that Christ taught me with His life and purchased for me by His death. Please free me from everything that holds me back from my highest potential. And make me an agent of change, to bring this love and freedom to others bound to limiting ideas and habits so they too can declare their independence.
