All the Fullness

“For in him dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.” Colossians‬ ‭2‬:‭9‬ ‭‬‬

This verse is amazing to me. It’s a mystery of the highest kind. In Christ’s human body dwells all the fullness of God. All the love, the wisdom, and the power of the Father, the Word, and the Spirit, are at home in Christ. Think about that with me for a moment.

Usually the presence of the Father would consume a mortal, but not Christ. A fraction of God’s wisdom would blow our minds. His name is too wonderful to hear or repeat. His power would extinguish us in a moment. Yet all this resides in Christ, and instead of destroying Him it only activates Him.

All fullness

But I haven’t mentioned the best part. We are made in his image, designed to be filled with all the fullness of God, just like he is. “For this cause I bow my knees unto the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ… that you might be filled with all the fulness of God.” Ephesians‬ ‭3‬:‭14, 19‬.

Can it be true? We are to be full of selfless love, full of divine wisdom, and full of godly power? My doubts and fears want to rise up in protest, but something in me believes it is true. I can have it! I’m built for it! I want it. Don’t you?

Prayer:

Lord, I believe your word. Help my unbelief! Give me your fullness, again and again, until I am full of You! Remove my unbelief, doubts, fears, insecurities, inhibitions, everything that holds me back. Then show me how to receive and manifest You fully. Thank you! Amen.

Action:

Pour a very full glass of something refreshing to drink, full to the brim. Water, juice, tea… Drink all of it. Carefully. Gratefully.
