Free Love Pt 3

“The Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him who hears say, Come. And let him who is thirsty come, and let whoever will take the water of life freely.” Rev 22:17

Suppose it were possible to access God’s free love and use it. Anyone who could get access would have an endless supply of it, more than enough for themselves and to share with everyone around, more than can be used in a lifetime. And this endless supply is a source of all knowledge and power. How much would this access cost? Truth is, there’s so much of it and more being created every day, that there’s no fee. It simply pays to use it. Please just come and take it, for God’s sake!

The real question is, How much should you pay? Who can handle all experience and all energy? Who could you trust with infinite wisdom and power? Wouldn’t someone try to steal it, or hoard it, or manipulate it, or restrict it? Someone might try, but all of that is impossible. God’s love consumes sin and selfishness. Pure love is foolproof, its own safeguard. Anyone who would misuse it gets… poof! Vaporized. Over before it starts. And since all have sinned, no one qualifies.

But wait! God is love, remember. Love always finds a way! In Christ, God has opened a portal to this free love. Christ alone can approach it and not be consumed, has paid with His sinless life the cost for this access, has proven his willingness and ability to use it well, and has made it available to all who will. It only requires faith, which God has already given to everyone just for being human. God needs no payments from you. He only asks that you come take His love, put it to good use, and come back for more, again and again, as often as you want.

Dear God! What love! To be so abundantly rich you need to freely give away your riches to anyone who’ll take it. Give me this love and teach me how to use it well. Amen.
