How much is a great harvest worth? The world economies are grounded the value of what each country can sell, especially food production. What is the highest value item that has ever been produced and sold? I’m learning the answer.
People are the treasure of eternity. We can be sure of this, because God gave His only Son to secure humanity, and Jesus gave Himself. The pledge of this Sacrifice was made before creation, at the cross the promise was kept, and the price was fixed. From now on no lower amount can be placed on us and be a true estimate of our worth. And no higher cost can be paid for us.
Have you ever wondered why God sacrificed so much for us, rebels and sinners? It is because God designed everything to illustrate who He is. Sowing and reaping is the foundation of the universe. What you sow you will reap much more of the same. And if you sow a lot of it, you can reap more than you can use, more than you can store, or sell, or give away. This is the secret of an abundant harvest, the ever increasing population, and the ever expanding universe. A cheerful, voluntary sacrifice to selflessly benefit others will produce many times more of the same, guaranteed.
This is the principle under the gospel of Christ. Christ pledged himself, lived a sinless (selfless) life to benefit humanity in temporal things, then willingly died to selflessly bless others eternally. This has produced many times more of the same, people learning to love others so well, so much, even to death if needed. It’s still producing. To this date, there are many millions of others who are receiving this love and reproducing it.
Oh God, what a way to live! Your ways are higher and better than ours! Thank you for being you! Thank you for showing us yourself and inviting us to join you in love. I’ve been slow to see it and even slower to catch on, but I’m getting it. I will follow this pattern of life and see just how it works. Then I will share it with everyone who will accept it, and together we will live to glorify your name and your ways. Amen.
