In the Closet Pt 2

“You are my hiding place; You, Lord, protect me from trouble; You surround me with songs and shouts of deliverance. Selah.” Psalm 32:7 AMP

Before you come out of the closet, soak in the love of God. Get more and more of it until you feel you will expand, explode, spill over. Until it’s not just a Bible study, but until His love is alive, real, almost breathing a life of its own. Stay there every day until it is part of you. Until it is first thought, second nature. Until you know unmistakably, unshakably, that God loves you no matter what. If God can love you now, in spite of (or because of) whatever you have hidden from the world, when you’re at your weakest, He can love you in any other condition.

His love will change something in you. Being loved and forgiven can free you to be who you’ve always wanted to be. Being trusted and appointed to a specific mission in Christ can empower you to grow beyond your limits. Then whatever has you trapped in the closet may no longer be an issue. Who knows, you may not need the closet anymore. You have nothing to hide, nothing to be afraid of. With God’s forgiveness you can exit the closet experience without guilt. With God’s perfect love you can exit the closet and face your fears. When God delivers you from your inner closet and becomes your safest hiding place, you can be free to deliver others.

God, you are the best hiding place ever! Thank you for keeping me and loving me. I’ve been afraid to be myself before You, in front of the mirror, or before the world. But You see me as I am and the reflection of You I can be. With Your love, it is safe to come out of hiding.
