Roses & Violets

“I urge, then, first of all, that petitions, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for all people.” 1 Timothy 2:1 NIV

Roses are red. Sometimes.
Violets are more purple than blue.
And I’m not quite sure
How to say Thank you!

Cause you blessed my soul
And helped me to grow
Just like the flowers
in God’s Garden of Love

The seeds that you planted
And the care that you showed
Whenever you saw me
The way your face glowed

Caused me to flower
Allowed me to bloom
The joy of your presence
Brought out the fruit

I don’t know how to say it
But my prayer for you
When my color has faded
my petals long dried,
and the fruit all consumed

When you need it most
My last gift for you
May this “Thank you!” return
As sweet as perfume.

God, thank you for the people in my life you have blessed me with. Thank you that they love me and have found ways to show it. Help me not to take it for granted. Bless them richly this season. Return to them the blessings they’ve poured out on me. Return it with Your abundant interest. Thank you.
