“For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you: but if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.” Matthew 6:14-15 KJV

Now that you have fully forgiven all who wronged you, even to the point of serving them in Christ if needed, you can be fully forgiven when you wrong someone else. The same Substitute who helps reconcile you when you are wronged, helps reconcile you when you do wrong. The Spirit of Christ enables you to see and feel your loved one’s heart, so you can apologize sincerely. He may help you see beyond your loved one’s pain to the ripple effects. He helps you repay what was lost many times over. He helps you repent as many times as necessary until you get it right consistently. He helps repair and restore the relationship if your loved one is willing, and Christ will show you the best way to encourage their willingness.
The love of God in forgiveness heals the brokenhearted. It heals relationships. It cleanses you of guilt and regret, of anger and revenge. It releases the stress that has become blocked and hardened in your body, creating physical conditions that allow weakness and disease. Love heals the lover first and most, and then it may heal the loved. Forgiveness heals the forgiver first and best, and then it may heal the forgiven.
God, thank you for forgiving me and healing my heart. Thank you for helping me see, confess, and repent from my selfishness. You also help me repay my debts so generously, and restore my relationships so thoroughly that things become better than if it hadn’t happened. Please help me as I seek and offer forgiveness today. Thank you!
