God is Love: Love Incarnate pt 4

“And the angel answered and said unto her, The Holy Ghost shall come upon thee, and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of [Love].” Luke 1:35 KJV

In my reflections on the God being Love personified, and Christ being Love in flesh, I’ve been having a strange new thought. Tell me if you think I’m out to space.

The Book of Hebrews tells us that Christ is the express image of the Father and the Creator of the universe, (Hebrews 1:1-5). A few weeks ago I began to consider Christ as a designer, not just a creator. It is possible to create something on accident, but a designer must have intention, purpose, and follow a set of rules or predetermined limits to secure a desired outcome. And then I thought of DNA, and of its library of information and instructions for building life. If Christ designed our genetic codes, then He’s the first coder, programmer. Mind blow. Pause for thought. Let that sink in.

And then I could imagine the pre-carnate Love-the-Son, designing codes (words) that materially, biologically, spiritually, humanly express the myriad, multifaceted character and nature of Love in this universe and on this planet. Love the Son could speak this word code to create or materialize everything we see, even the first humans. Pause for thought. Let that sink in.

If that’s the case, then the Spirit of Love could easily and imperceptibly fertilize Mary’s egg with the microscopic DNA code that would become the only begotten Son of Love, the Christ, just like artificial insemination today, only better and less painful. I don’t have scientific proof of this theory, but it sure feels plausible. Pause for thought. Let that sink in.

Love, what is this? What Genius is this? To design such a thing, that the invisible, infinite, immortal LOVE can be coded as a baby? What are we? Oh, for Love’s sake, let us truly worship and stand in awe of what You have done for us in your Son.
