God is Love: Love Incarnate pt 5

“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of [Love], even to them that believe on his name:” ‭‭John‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Today we detour from the nativity story to look at the purpose of the Incarnation. Yesterday we looked at the theory that Christ is the Coder of the human DNA and through the Incarnation became the first baby born with this code. If that’s true, the same or similar process can be done for all those who believe that Christ is the incarnate Son of Love. The Scripture says the “Word was made flesh,” or for our purposes, the code of Love was made flesh (John 1:14).

The Spirit of Love can imperceptibly repair our damaged DNA with the perfect code Christ created and lived, just as He did for Mary who believed a virgin could conceive and give birth to the Son of Love. And as we act by faith in the unseen reality, trusting the Spirit to make the Word true, we could discover we have new genes, new abilities, new choices, a new life, and new outcomes. All we have to do is ask, believe, and act in Love; and we are born again with new genes, daily or as often as necessary, even though it is unseen.

Eventually the laws of epigenetics will turn off the old genes, and we can be new creation in Christ. We can pass on Christlike Love genes to our children and grandchildren, and if they continue asking, believing, and acting on the Word, eventually the old genes, thought patterns, fears, anxieties, coping mechanisms, and habits will be turned off and dropped out of our bloodlines for good. The empty spots in our DNA, our inward parts (Psalm 51:6), our hearts, can be restored. Because Love became a man, any man can become love.

Love, thank you for the incarnation, for all you had to go through to get it done, for showing us what we were designed to become, expressions of your Love. Forgive our ignorance of what we are and our carelessness of keeping our bodies, minds, and souls in top condition. Help us take care of ourselves, so we can be all the Love you designed us to be. And we’ll tell everyone we meet how you did it.
