About

Why do you combine the arts and wellness? Our best physical health includes good spiritual and mental health, and without them healing is incomplete. Creative arts of all kinds open the door of the mind and heart, engages the body and senses, and begins complex healing processes that support physical treatment. This emerging field needs more attention, research, and development.

Who are you? This is an amazing question and one I’m still answering.

As a lacto-ovo vegetarian with a childhood milk allergy, I was effectively plant-based in the 80’s before America knew what that was. When veganism was introduced to my social circles in the late 90’s, it wasn’t a hard switch for me. Since then I’ve taught health and cooking classes either on my own or for various churches or organizations I’ve been involved with.

Personally I am a Christian, wife, mother, and minister. Between Admin Assistant jobs, I’m a homemaker, homeschool parent, and home business owner. I’ve served in churches in various offices as a Bible teacher, health educator, music minister. Along the way I’m a writer, songwriter, artist, and crafter in my spare time. But my recent Master’s degree in Practical Theology and focus in worship arts broke me out of my shell and sent me into poetry performance. I’ve organized several poetry events and thoroughly enjoyed them. A few months ago someone called me an “Inspired Poet,” which still gives me chills.

Now I’m also the Resident Poet at the Brio Theater in Tucker, GA with Pastors Delores and Gary Burgess! I’m so proud of them and their new building, and honored to be a part of their work. If you stop by during one of their events you may see me in action, along with other inspired poets, artists, musicians, dancers and so much more!

But beyond that, what really takes my breath away is that I’m now a wellness and transformation coach. Helping others develop is the purpose of my poetry, music, and art; the application of my theology; the motivation in my family and social relationships; and the hope of my lifework. In this purpose I found my grounding and my calling, and this method is a means of getting it done. I love it. I’m in awe of the new me that God is creating, this journey to healing and wholeness in all areas of life, and the chance to help others have this experience.

What are your qualifications? First, I have a divine calling to teach others what God has taught me. (We all do.) Along with that I have a lifetime of dedication to Christ and His church, as well as over 50 years of commitment to healthy living and eating. To these I’m adding my recent training and experiences in spiritual guidance and mental wellbeing, my new passion for intergenerational wellness, my own personal transformational goals, and a dash of my creative writing, poetry, and art. Now with your prayers, support, and participation, we can combine it all into a successful business and fulfilling wellness ministry.
