“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you.” John 15:7 KJV

We’ve already discussed how to abide in Christ and let His words abide in us, how this realigns our wills to His, and allows our prayers to cooperate with heaven. Now it’s time to start the experiment! I admit, I’m not new to prayer, but I’ve not tried a deliberate prayer experiment. I want to know how to pray and be confident of the answer.
I’m going to try the experiment myself and post what’s happening, though there may not be something to post daily. Free feel to watch for and comment on my posts in this series, or do your own experiment and comment. It requires some forethought and pre-planning before you begin. Read through it, ask the Spirit to help you set this up so you get the best experience. Make adjustments as you go if needed, but don’t quit!
Abiding Prayer
For 30 days take 10-20 min 3x a day (30-60 min/day) to do the following:
- Abide in Christ’s love: Meditate on it. Trust it. Talk/sing about it. Thank Him for it. Block out other thoughts at this time. Find a simple way to exercise His love in at least one of your relationships.
- Let His word abide: Memorize a promise
- Ask what we will: Pray for something specific according to His love and the promise. Wait patiently and persistently if necessary for Him to talk to you or answer the prayer.
- Record: Record the meditation topic, Bible promise, the prayer request, and any answers that come.
- Celebrate: every revelation of God’s love! Respond in the comments.
Father, thank you for being faithful, keeping your word, and answering prayer. Many of us are guessing about how to talk to You, but we’d like to be efficient and effectual. Help us while we test this process, so we can understand you better.
